This Privacy Policy describes how Gramos Imeri (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal data and media content (photos and videos) of users (“you,” “your”) of the QuizPics mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Personal Data

QuizPics does not require you to register with personal details such as an email address or name. We do not collect data that directly identifies you (e.g., name, email address).

However, we may collect certain indirect identifiers (such as a device ID) to ensure the proper functioning of the App, without directly identifying you as an individual.

1.2 Technical Information

We may collect certain non-identifying technical information, such as:

The type of device you use (smartphone, tablet)
Your device’s operating system (Android or iOS) and its version
A device identifier (Device ID) automatically generated by your device or the app distribution platform

These types of data are used to:

Ensure the App’s compatibility and functionality
Diagnose and resolve technical issues
Improve the quality and performance of the App

1.3 Media Content (Photos/Videos)

The QuizPics App allows players to participate in a quiz game using images and videos from their devices. When you start a game, selected photos and videos may be uploaded to and stored on our servers in order to:

Display these images/videos to other participants in the current game
Generate the quiz and determine scores

Important: Although this media content may be personal or sensitive, it is only used for the purpose of the game and is not made public outside of that context. Access to the content is limited to participants in the same game session.

1.3.1 Game Mechanics and Content Processing

When participating in a quiz game:

Each participant voluntarily selects and uploads photos/videos from their device
Content is temporarily stored on our servers for the duration of the 10-round game
Each round lasts 5 seconds, during which players guess the content owner
Points are awarded based on response speed and accuracy
All participants in a game session can view the uploaded content during gameplay

1.3.2 Content Guidelines

When selecting photos and videos for the game, users must ensure their content:

Does not violate any third-party rights (copyright, privacy, etc.)
Is appropriate for all game participants
Does not contain explicit, offensive, or illegal material
Is owned by or licensed to the user uploading it

We reserve the right to terminate game sessions containing inappropriate content.

1.4 In-App Purchases

If you choose to make an in-app purchase (e.g., to unlock paid features), the transaction is handled by a third-party platform (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). We do not have access to your payment information. We may receive a transaction confirmation or a non-identifying purchase ID. Please review the respective platform’s privacy policy for details on how your payment information is handled.

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on:

Performance of a contract: We need certain data to provide the quiz game features and related services.
Legitimate interest: To maintain and secure the App, prevent fraud, and ensure technical functionality.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the App’s features
Allow participants to access the required images/videos during the game
Ensure the App’s security and integrity
Troubleshoot technical issues and analyze App usage

We do not use your data for direct marketing purposes and do not perform profiling based on the collected data.

4. Data Minimization

We follow strict data minimization practices:

We only collect and process data that is necessary for the game’s functionality
Media content is stored only for the duration required for gameplay and review
Technical data is limited to what is essential for app operation
We regularly review and update our data collection practices to minimize data retention

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. The media content you upload is shared only with players in the same game session, strictly for the intended purpose of the quiz.

Outside of this context, we will not disclose your content to third parties unless required by law (e.g., a lawful request by authorities).

6. Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect your content:

Content is stored on secure servers with restricted access
Media files are automatically deleted 24 hours after game completion
We maintain logs of access attempts for security purposes
Regular security audits are performed on our systems
Access to servers is strictly controlled and monitored

While we implement these security measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

Media Content (Photos/Videos): Images and videos are stored for the duration of the game plus 24 hours to allow for result viewing and dispute resolution. After this period, content is permanently deleted from both live systems and backups.
Technical Data: Non-identifying data (Device ID, OS version, etc.) may be retained for up to 90 days to maintain and improve the App.

8. Your Rights and Data Access

While QuizPics operates within the European Economic Area (EEA) and respects data protection principles under GDPR, our app is designed with privacy-by-default and data minimization in mind. We do not collect or store any personally identifying information about our users.

The only data we temporarily store is:

Photos and videos you choose to share during a game (deleted after 24 hours)
Technical device information necessary for app functionality
A randomly generated device identifier

Because we don’t collect or store personal data that could identify you, many traditional GDPR rights (such as access, rectification, or portability) do not apply in a practical sense - there is no stored personal data to access, correct, or transfer.

However, you maintain control over your data through:

Choosing which photos/videos to share in each game
The ability to exit a game session at any time
Requesting immediate deletion of your shared content during a game
Automatic deletion of all shared content after 24 hours

9. International Data Transfers

We strive to store and process your data within the EEA. If transfers outside the EEA become necessary, they will be carried out with appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

10. User Control and Content Removal

During gameplay:

You can choose which photos/videos to share
You can exit a game session at any time
You can request immediate deletion of your shared content
You control who joins your game session through invitation mechanisms

After gameplay:

All content is automatically removed after 24 hours
You can contact us to verify content deletion
You can report inappropriate content through the in-app reporting system

11. Age Restrictions

QuizPics is intended for users aged 13 and above. Users under 18 should obtain parental consent before using the app. We do not knowingly collect or process data from users under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 13, we will take steps to delete this information promptly.

12. Reporting Mechanisms

Users can report inappropriate content or behavior through:
